The Tiny Tot program teaches young gymnasts Level 1 and Level 2 skills and routines. The stretches and exercises focus on strength, flexibility, form, and performance. Tiny Tots is a precompetitive team, but their workouts are designed like a gymnastics team practice. Tiny Tots practice two hours a week.
The Developmental Team teaches young gymnasts Level 3 and Level 4 skills and routines. The stretches and exercises focus on strength, flexibility, form, and performance. Developmental Team is a precompetitive team, but we hold "fun meets" at our gym that are judged by the coaches.. These competitions are an opportunity for the athletes to perform their routines in front of their teammates and families in a meet environement. The developmental team workouts are designed like a gymnastics team practice. They also take a half hour of dance each week to work on balance, coordination, and the dance combinations from their routines. Developmental team practices four and a half hours a week.
Women's Competitive Gymnastics Team
The Mattoon Academy Gymnastics team is for gymnasts who have reached levels 4-10. These athletes learn routines and compete in Illinois and Missouri. During each practice, the athletes use the gymnastics apparatus and build strength, flexibility, and good form. Gym team practices for two and a half hours each night. Each gymnast's schedule varies depending on their level.
Our competitive tumbling and trampoline team is for athletes ages 3 and up. The Mini Stars are tumblers of levels Sub-Beginner and Beginner. They work on their acquired level's tumbling and trampoline skills They compete several times per year in Illinois and can also qualify for Nationals. The location of Nationals varies year to year across the US. Practice includes stretches, drills, exercises, and practicing routines. The Mini Stars practice 1 1/2 hours a week.

Mattoon Mustang AAU Cheer Teams
This program is for cheerleaders or aspiring cheerleaders ages 5 & up. The students have Cheer Squad practice once a week for two hours. The students learn a routine that they will compete at AAU Cheer Competitions. They will also be in parades and perform at demonstrations.
Petite Dance Company is a competitive dance team for beginning level dancers. These dancers learn tap, ballet, and jazz routines for the competition season. They attend a couple of competitions per season and also perform at demonstrations and our annual Spring Recital.
The Mattoon Academy Elite Dance Company is a competitive dance team for Intermediate to Advanced Dancers. These dancers learn ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, acro, point and more. Their competitive season runs from March to June. They attend several competitions per season and also perform at demonstrations and our annual Spring Recital.
